With the Disney Parks Blog’s live stream of Harmonious, many of us are wondering…will Guests visiting EPCOT that day be able to see the show before it officially opens? It is quite possible a change in park hours is coming soon from Disney that hasn’t been announced yet, but as it stands right now, this appears to be the case!
The Disney Parks Blog will live stream the first showing of EPCOT’s brand new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, at 9:00 pm ET on September 29, 2021. The current park hours for EPCOT, as listed online on Walt Disney World’s official site and on the My Disney Experience app have EPCOT set to close at 9:00 pm that day.
As you may remember, past EPCOT fireworks shows including, EPCOT Forever and Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, also sometimes took place right at park closing. In these situations, Guests were able to stay around World Showcase Lagoon for the fireworks before filing out of a then closed park. As the schedule stands now, this appears to be what will happen with the Harmonious showing on September 29.
The following evening, the Disney Parks Blog is also planning to live stream Disney Enchantment over at the Magic Kingdom. This performance however is already scheduled for a couple of hours after the park’s closing time, so Guests will likely not be able to see the show…at least from inside the park. Guests could see it from fireworks viewing locations outside of the park, but without the music being piped in they may want to wait until they can get the full effect of the show.
We will be curious to see if Guests in EPCOT on September 29 are able to get an early look at Harmonious. If you are visiting the park that day, we definitely recommend checking the park’s hours throughout your trip, and sticking around World Showcase for closing time if it seems a soft opening may happen.
