Disney Announces End of an Era for Taylor Swift Partnership

Walt Disney Presents is usually a quieter venue inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, hosting rotating exhibits tied to films, seasonal programming, and company history.

That changed in December, when a Taylor Swift–related display began drawing steady crowds. The exhibit, tied to recent Disney+ releases, quickly became one of the park’s most visited walk-through experiences.

Disney has now confirmed when the exhibit will close.

Taylor Swift’s Growing Role Within Disney’s Ecosystem

Taylor Swift’s relationship with The Walt Disney Company has developed gradually rather than through a single headline-making deal. The partnership began in 2020 with Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, which debuted exclusively on Disney+.

The project marked one of Disney+’s earliest high-profile music releases and positioned Swift as a recurring presence on the platform. That connection expanded significantly in 2024 with the release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version).

Following its theatrical run, the concert film became one of Disney+’s most prominent music titles. The Eras Tour itself reshaped modern touring benchmarks, combining a three-hour setlist with elaborate staging and era-specific performances.

Spanning several continents, the tour revisited nearly every phase of Swift’s career and drew more than 10 million attendees worldwide. It grossed over $2 billion, making it the highest-grossing concert tour of all time.

Earlier this month, Disney+ added Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show, along with the documentary series Taylor Swift: The End of an Era. Both projects arrived as the tour reached its conclusion.

Taylor Swift: The End of an Era follows Swift’s life alongside the demands of the tour. The series covers both professional milestones and personal events, including a failed ISIS attack in Vienna and Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Rather than treating these releases as standalone projects, Disney has framed them as part of a broader content cycle. The theme park exhibit became the physical extension of that strategy.

Inside the Eras Tour Exhibit at Walt Disney World

The Taylor Swift exhibit opened on December 12 inside Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney did not heavily promote the installation ahead of time, instead allowing it to emerge organically alongside the Disney+ releases.

The exhibit features several costumes worn by Swift during The Eras Tour. Among them are the white Vivienne Westwood dress and gloves from “The Tortured Poets Department,” the gold Reputation bodysuit introduced later in the tour, and the Midnights finale bodysuit and jacket.

For many fans, the display offered a rare chance to see tour costumes in person, particularly those unable to attend the concert itself. The response was immediate.

“There’s a line in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World just to take photos with Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour outfits 😮”

Crowds formed throughout the day, prompting Disney to adjust operating hours at Walt Disney Presents to accommodate increased demand. The exhibit quickly became one of the most photographed locations in the park.

Despite the turnout, Disney positioned the display as a temporary installation. It currently shares space with other rotating exhibits, including seasonal displays featuring costumes from The Santa Clause franchise and The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992).

Disney has now confirmed that the Taylor Swift exhibit will close on January 23. Guests have just over a month remaining to view the costumes before the space is repurposed.

The exhibit’s popularity has sparked speculation among fans about Swift’s future with Disney Parks. Some have pointed to Captain EO, the Michael Jackson–led attraction once found at EPCOT, Disneyland Park, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyland, as a potential comparison.

Disney has not indicated plans for a permanent Taylor Swift attraction. The exhibit appears designed specifically to support Disney+ releases rather than signal a long-term park addition.

Swift released her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” in October, keeping attention focused on her evolving music career. For now, the exhibit functions as a short-lived bridge between streaming content and physical experience.

  1. I cannot see the installment as much as I want to. I am disabled and Disney took away their disability accommodations pass for just about everyone. Hopefully she will display them somewhere else that isn’t all about greed and I hope she breaks this partnership. Disney isn’t what it used to be.

  2. Been there today and saw Taylor Swifts outfits and some Walt Disney Cartoons. The dresses or outfits are nice but not exactly part of Walt Disney history.
