“One bite, everybody knows the rules.” –Dave Portnoy, Founder and President, Barstool Sports.
The Walt Disney World Resort is loved by scores of fans for its food and drink options, from rooftop dining at California Grill to quick service spots like Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, and all of the character dining and popcorn stands in between. But the culinary core of the Mega-Resort is found at EPCOT’s World Showcase. Eleven different pavilions offer Guests a taste of home, be it margaritas in a tequila bar, fresh sushi, or Neopolitan-style pizza. And it was the pizza served at the Italy pavilion that drew the attention of pizza fan Dave Portnoy.
After years of compiling his “one bite” pizza reviews across the United States, Barstool Sports’ founder and President Dave Portnoy finally visited Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria at EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion to pass official judgment on what Italy’s cultural representatives are serving up.
Rocking a pair of R2-D2 Ears, “El Presidente” gives props to the authentic Italian experience he found at Via Napoli and ranked the Margarita Pizza a 7.1, clarifying that the “standard” for Neopolitan pizza is a 6.8.

Portnoy also summarized his Disney World vacation so far. He was on a VIP tour, visiting all of the Theme Parks, and had just ridden Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. He also told his followers that he finally experienced Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but he still thinks the classic Star Wars attraction Star Tours is still better. He also expressed a slight sense of empathetic frustration over the new need to be always on the MyDisneyExperience App when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.

While a walk-up pizza window is open occasionally open adjacent to it, Via Napoli is a table-service restaurant that requires a reservation. It is owned and operated by the Patina Restaurant Group and serves lunch and dinner daily. It has been named Critic’s Choice for “Best Theme Park Restaurant” by the Orlando Sentinel.
