When thinking back on Walt Disney World vacations, some people may remember their favorite rides and attractions, while others may think fondly of the fun character interactions they had. Then there are those who love to think back on all the incredible meals that they had. Walt Disney World Resort has nearly 400 incredible dining options. Guests can have memorable meals at the theme parks, Resort hotels, and Disney Springs. Many Guests remember their favorite Disney World dining spots, and dine at the same places trip after trip.
One of the most popular Disney dining experiences is character dining. If you are not familiar with character dining, it’s an amazing dining experience at select sit-down restaurants either in a Disney World theme park or at a hotel. Most of the character dining experiences are a set price and include either buffet or family-style dining. As you and your party enjoy a delectable feast, popular Disney characters — that are predetermined — will visit each table, chatting with Guests, signing autographs, and taking pictures.
Character dining itself is beloved by Guests, with Princess dining experiences being some of the most popular options at Disney World. There are only several Princess dining experiences available at The Most Magical Place on Earth. At EPCOT — the ultimate spot for Disney foodies — Guests can dine with princesses at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion.
Before COVID, Akershus offered a princess dining experience for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Only dinner has been available since November 4, 2022, when Disney brought character dining back to the Royal Banquet Hall. However, that is about to change! According to the official Disney Eats Instagram, breakfast and lunch will be returning to Akershus on May 14!
Royal foodie friends! 👑 We’ve got some exciting breakfast news to share. Starting May 14, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall will be welcoming back its distinguished guests for breakfast! Be sure to book your reservations for this exciting return to EPCOT. ☀️✨ #DisneyEats

At this time, we don’t know if breakfast or lunch will offer princess character experiences like dinner. Character dining experiences for breakfast and lunch were available pre-COVID, and, since dinner is a character dining experience, we can only hope for the best! Disney has not said when reservations will become available for booking, but says it will be “soon”.
Disney Fanatic will keep readers updated as we learn when reservations will open and whether characters will be joining Guests for breakfast and lunch.
