Oogie Boogie Bash is coming back to Disney California Adventure Park this fall. Unfortunately, Disneyland Resort has confirmed that the Frightfully Fun parade won't be returning to the annual Halloween event.
The Frightfully Fun Parade Is Sitting This One Out
Buried in Tuesday's Halloween season announcement from Disney Parks Blog was a notable absence: the Frightfully Fun Parade will not be part of Oogie Boogie Bash 2026. The reason, it appears, is construction. Walt Disney Imagineering is currently building a Coco (2017)-inspired attraction near one of the gates that the parade typically uses at Disney California Adventure Park, and the construction footprint has effectively blocked the route.
The Frightfully Fun Parade has been a cornerstone of Oogie Boogie Bash for years, sending Disney Villains, characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), and the Headless Horseman through the park in one of the most visually spectacular Halloween offerings at any Disney destination. Ichabod Crane will still appear at Oogie Boogie Bash this year — roaming the park at scheduled times nightly, evading the Headless Horseman — but without the parade they usually appear in.
What's Replacing The Parade
Disneyland Resort has designed a new experience to help fill the void left by the Frightfully Fun parade. Debuting at Oogie Boogie Bash from August 18 through October 31, “Madame Leota's Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” will bring rare characters from the iconic Disneyland Park attraction to Disney California Adventure.

Elements from the Haunted Mansion float that appeared in the Frightfully Fun Parade are expected to carry over into the new street party experience. It's unclear whether Disney will find ways to incorporate characters and elements from other parade floats elsewhere at Oogie Boogie Bash.
Everything Else Coming to Oogie Boogie Bash 2026
The rest of the 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash lineup offers plenty to look forward to. Attraction overlays return to both Cars Land — transformed once again into Radiator Screams — and Avengers Campus, where Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark takes over Mission: BREAKOUT! each evening. “Mickey's Trick and Treat” returns to the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
Oogie Boogie Bash runs from August 21 through October 31, 2026, with tickets going on sale June 18. A D23 Member-exclusive event will take place on September 27.
