Disneyland Makes Unprecedented Move: Changes How You’ll Explore the Parks Year-Round

There’s a good chance this is something Walt never imagined.

Disneyland just took a bold step that’s changing how fans experience the parks—without ever stepping foot inside them. Whether you're stuck at work, snowed in, or just curled up on your couch with snacks, Disney has made it possible to “visit” the Happiest Place on Earth from literally anywhere.

The Magic of Main Street… Virtually

To mark Disneyland’s 70th anniversary, Disney quietly released 16 new point-of-view (POV) park experiences straight to Disney+. Each one is designed to make you feel like you’re in the middle of the action, not just watching it from afar.

You can now virtually stroll down Main Street, take on Radiator Springs Racers, and hop from attraction to attraction without breaking a sweat—or waiting in line. That includes fan favorites like Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, and even newer additions like Avengers Campus.

More Than Just Ride Videos

These aren't your average YouTube ride-throughs. They were filmed with intention, precision, and all the polish Disney is known for. The idea? Give viewers the sense that they’re actually inside the parks. Every sound, turn, and show moment was carefully captured.

Nighttime shows like Paint the Night and Wondrous Journeys are included too, making this feel like a full day at the park—complete with fireworks.

And in a huge win for Star Wars lovers, Galaxy’s Edge even has an after-hours walkthrough and a high-quality version of Rise of the Resistance available now.

A Glimpse at Disney’s Digital Future?

This could easily become a bigger trend. With the popularity of streaming and digital content growing, and Disney investing heavily in its online presence, this might be a test run for more to come. Imagine seasonal overlays, special-event nights, or even international parks joining the mix.

Right now, the virtual park visit is just part of your regular Disney+ subscription. But if fans continue to embrace it, don’t be surprised if this becomes a major part of how Disney reaches global audiences moving forward.

One thing’s for sure—Disneyland just found a new way to let the magic live with you year-round.
