Closures are a part and parcel of the Disney experience. Every Guest is familiar with their favorite ride or attraction closing either for refurbishment or for a permanent retheme, as in the case of Splash Mountain, which is currently being rethemed to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. While there are some that can be quite controversial, especially in the case of permanent rethemes, when it comes to refurbishments, those are necessary to make sure that the Disney Parks are able to provide the quality of theme park experience they usually do.
Indiana Jones at the Disney Parks
Contrary to its current performance at the box office, Indiana Jones is one of the most popular franchises that the Walt Disney Company owns. The iconic series features Harrison Ford in the lead role and has followed his journey over the years, becoming a fan-favorite classic.
It’s not surprising in the least, then, that Disney capitalized on this and added the IP to the Parks. In Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios Theme Park, there is the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, in Disneyland Resort, there’s the Indiana Jones Adventure, and there is another attraction in Disneyland Paris as well.
Disneyland Paris’s Indiana Jones Attraction to Shut Down
As reported by Giant Freakin Robot, Disneyland Paris will be closing, most likely for refurbishment though there has been no official announcement explaining the reason for the closure.
The outlet speculated,
The last year has seen the revamp of a handful of Disney theme park attractions including the It’s a Small World boat float and Splash Mountain. For It’s a Small World, the ride was given a more inclusive update and now features characters in wheelchairs.
The attraction will be closing on September 25 of this year, and at this moment, it is not known when it will reopen once again.
Outside of this news, most recently, Indiana Jones has been making news for its disastrous performance at the box office during its 4th of July release. The movie has had mixed reviews and is not making Disney the money many thought it would make.
