Tiana’s Bayou Adventure continues to make its mark on Walt Disney World.
Any Disney Fanatic knows the long saga of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’s journey to soon becoming a Walt Disney World attraction. From backlash against the ride to petitions to save its predecessor, to asking Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to #SaveSplashMountain, the controversy surrounding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is not new. Even before Disney officially retired Splash Mountain both at Central Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort and its Southern California counterpart, Disneyland Resort, fans had been in an uproar about the permanent closure of the attraction.
However, with each day that passes, and each move from Disney, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is becoming more of a reality at the Central Florida Disney Park.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Walt Disney Imagineers have been working on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure since 2019, and the Walt Disney Company announced in 2020 that it would be permanently retiring Splash Mountain for the upcoming Disney theme park attraction. Since then, much has come to light about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, including an expanded storyline, and concept art released by Disney (both at the 2022 D23 Expo and after through Disney Parks Blog).
Based on the all-time favorite animated Disney film, The Princess and the Frog, the ride picks up narratively after the final kiss in the movie. Guests would join Princess Tiana and the jazz-loving alligator Louis on a musical adventure featuring some original music inspired by songs from the film, and Zydeco music—“a special blend of rhythm and blues that was born in Louisiana”—as they host “A Celebration of Family and Friends of New Orleans.”
We also discovered that two-hundred-year-old Bayou Fairy Godmother, with her eccentric belongings and “seeing eye snake,” Juju, Mama Odie, would have a scene within the attraction.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Officially Features on the Walt Disney World Digital Map
With everything we know so far about the ride, fans are thrilled and excited about what’s to come, and many have expressed absolute delight at getting a deeper look into Princess Tiana’s world and the bayou.
Now, there’s another update; journalist Scott Gustin took to Twitter to share that the Walt Disney World digital map was updated today, June 8, to include the logo for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The logo also specifies that the attraction will be coming in 2024.

Fans were thrilled to see this come to pass, considering the Disneyland map already features this logo. One shared, “With each small development. My hype for this attraction grows stronger and stronger. :D”
Another was concise in their approval: “Finally!!”
While some still mourn the passing of Splash Mountain (enough that one threatened to stage a protest for the closing of Disneyland’s Splash Mountain), many fans are ready and waiting for the new attraction to debut. Whatever your feelings may be about Splash Mountain, it’s undeniable that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is looking more and more exciting with each passing day.
