Disney’s New Show Is a Disaster: Here’s Why Fans Are Talking

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, known for its immersive atmosphere and family-friendly experiences, introduced a new show as part of its Cool Kids Summer event this year. Unfortunately, the performance featuring three actors impersonating exaggerated and sometimes frustrating Disney resort guests failed to resonate with the audience, leaving many questioning if this quirky production truly fits within the Disney brand.

A Snowy Show That Left Guests Cold

The show attempted to poke fun at common behaviors of resort visitors, with a central theme centered around a gimmick. The spectacle included the actors pulling oversized items from small bags—a visual that, rather than being humorous or charming, ended up leaving many guests confused. The humor felt forced, and the actors’ portrayal of these exaggerated characters didn’t capture the charm expected from Disney performances.

“As part of Cool Kids Summer, Wilderness Lodge has this very different show (yes these 3 are all actors). It amounted to taking very large items out of small bags. Guests didn’t seem enamoured with it, so maybe just allocate the budget to even more character meets?” one guest shared, echoing the thoughts of others who were disappointed by the lack of excitement in the performance.

A Missed Opportunity for More Engaging Fun

While Disney is no stranger to humor and fun, this particular offering didn’t strike the right balance. The concept, though novel, didn’t land as expected. For many, the attraction didn’t live up to Disney’s usual standard of entertainment. With so much focus placed on the actors’ portrayal of “unny and annoying resort guests, the essence of Disney magic seemed to be missing.

Many fans have suggested that the resources spent on this production could have been better used elsewhere, perhaps in more interactive experiences or additional character meet-and-greets for the younger guests attending Cool Kids Summer. Disney fans have long cherished the opportunities to meet and interact with beloved characters, and many believe that these experiences hold more value than another show that lacks the typical Disney magic.

Will Disney Adjust?

Despite the mixed reception, Disney has a history of adjusting its offerings based on feedback. This show’s underwhelming response is a rare misstep for the company, but it’s likely that the brand will take note of the feedback and refine future entertainment offerings at Wilderness Lodge. With the Cool Kids Summer event continuing through the season, it’s possible that Disney will work to enhance the guest experience with more engaging performances and activities.

In the meantime, visitors to Wilderness Lodge can still look forward to a host of other exciting opportunities, such as character interactions and nature hikes, which continue to provide the magic and charm Disney is known for. While this particular show may not have lived up to expectations, the resort remains a premier destination for families looking for both adventure and relaxation.

Though the show didn’t make the lasting impact Disney had hoped for, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the enchanting atmosphere of Wilderness Lodge this summer. Whether it’s connecting with characters or enjoying the beautiful surroundings, the magic of Disney continues to shine in many other ways.
