Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel to Undergo Massive Transformation With an All-New Theme

Big changes are coming to a classic Disney hotel! Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel at the Disneyland Resort will be undergoing a massive renovation resulting in an entirely new theme for the resort, Pixar!

Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif., will soon begin a transformation, with an all-new theme. The reimagining of the hotel will weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting. Guests will gain a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters through carefully curated artwork, and décor that reveals the creative journey of the artists who helped bring these stories to life. The Disney Parks Blog shared the details that this resort will feature iconic settings and characters from favorite Disney and Pixar films, creating a more cohesive connection with the hotel and Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park.

When work on the resort is complete, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will feature thoughtfully curated works of art and decor designed by Disney Imagineers that are sure to immerse Guests into their favorite Pixar stories. As the concept art for the project indicates, Guests will see icons like the Luxo Jr. or Pixar Lamp atop the iconic animation studio’s ball in the lobby, plus other characters and designs around the property.

Also featured in the concept art for the lobby are designs based on characters from Finding Nemo (2003), Monsters Inc. (2001), and more. Additional films represented in Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Park include Toy Story (1995), Inside Out (2015), and The Incredibles (2004), and of course Cars (2006) is the entire theme of another land in the park, so it is very likely that we will see similar films represented at the resort once the re-theme is complete.

In addition to sharing some of the initial details for renovations to Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, the Disney Parks Blog also shared that additional benefits will be added (or returning) exclusively for Disney hotel Guests. In addition to access to Disney California Adventure Park through Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa entrance, Disney just shared that a walkway us already under construction to give Guests staying at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel an entrance into the park, too.

The previously announced “Hey Disney” voice assistant (think Alexa on Amazon Echo, but Disney) will also be rolled out in hotel rooms across the Disneyland Resort later this year.

And, package delivery to resorts will soon return as well as early entry access to the parks for Guests staying at Disneyland Resort hotels.

Disney has not yet confirmed dates for when these offerings will begin, but we will be back with more details as we have them here on Disney Fanatic.
