Disney star and WWE household name Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has just launched a new venture… but fans are confused.

Dwayne Johnson, widely recognized as one of the most prominent figures in the entertainment industry, garnered worldwide fame through his remarkable journey from the wrestling ring to the silver screen. His career skyrocketed during his tenure in the WWE championships, where he captivated audiences with his charismatic persona and unmatched athleticism, earning a devoted fan base that transcended sports entertainment.

Johnson also made a name for himself by working with the Walt Disney Company. His collaborations with Disney have produced cinematic gems that have resonated with audiences of all ages. Noteworthy among these is his film Jungle Cruise with Emily Blunt and his role of the beloved demi-god Maui in the animated feature Moana.

Recently, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced a new venture, and fans are utterly confused about one aspect of the business.

Per a recent announcement on Instagram in collaboration with Target, Dwayne Johnson unveiled Papatui, a new skincare line and wellness and grooming line, which aims to normalize men taking care of their skin. It encompasses face, body, and tattoo care, per the caption of the video.

This new personal care brand has “Over 20 affordable products (under $12), with a luxe scent profile inspired by his fave cologne (coconut and sandalwood).”

The men’s care brand is meant to help men become more comfortable taking care of themselves. The beauty industry, while well-developed for women, doesn’t necessarily cater to men in the same capacity.

In addition, the pressure to adhere to societal standards can sometimes mean that individuals don’t feel comfortable being honest about their grooming and body care. Johnson asks, “So many times I would say, dude, why are we whispering about skincare?” commenting that many need to take better care of themselves.

Of course, as part of this personal care line, along with skincare products, there is also shampoo on offer. While most were completely aligned with the majority of the line, the shampoo Papatui product threw many off, and they made their feelings known on social media.

One commented, “Boy, this man has no business in the shampoo department.”

Another wrote, “I’m not gonna buy shampoo from a hairless man!”

A third humorously commented, “If you ever feel disqualified or have a bit of imposter syndrome, just remember Dwayne Johnson uses images of himself to advertise hair shampoo.”

A fourth recalled The Rock himself in his comment: “Where’s your hai…,IT DOESNT MATTER.”

Ultimately, along with these humorous comments, many were impressed with the products themselves. One wrote, “Picked up the cedar body wash and the toner yesterday, super impressed. Affordable and smells great. Yes men, it’s okay to talk about this stuff and take care of ourselves like that!”

Here’s wishing The Rock the best with his new venture.
