EPCOT has seen an incredible transformation over the last several years, from the reimagining of its Future World into new neighborhoods to the introduction of highly anticipated attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Luminous: The Symphony of Us.
While these changes have drawn significant attention, another major shift is happening within the park’s World Showcase.
Beginning this November, Takumi-Tei, the signature dining restaurant in EPCOT’s Japan Pavilion, will be expanding its availability. Once only open on select days, Takumi-Tei will now welcome guests seven days a week, allowing more visitors to indulge in this luxurious culinary experience.
Takumi-Tei is known for its omakase-style dining, where the chef curates an exquisite multi-course meal. Guests can choose from two menus: Kiku, the omnivorous option, or Hasu, the plant-based course. Both menus start at $250 per person, not including tax or gratuity.
While this price is higher than most other dining options in Walt Disney World, it reflects the quality and uniqueness of the experience. The dishes served include Japanese A5 wagyu steak, seasonal sashimi, and other delicacies, alongside premium sake and wine pairings.
In addition to the exceptional cuisine, Takumi-Tei offers an intimate atmosphere. The dining rooms are themed around the five elements of Japanese culture, creating an immersive environment that complements the meal. For those seeking an even more exclusive experience, the restaurant’s Water Room, which seats up to eight guests and features a flowing waterfall, can be reserved for an additional fee.
While the expansion to seven-day service is good news for guests hoping to visit Takumi-Tei, reservations remain essential. Given the restaurant’s popularity and limited seating, booking in advance is strongly encouraged. Furthermore, Takumi-Tei maintains a $100 per person cancellation fee for reservations canceled within 48 hours, ensuring that each spot is filled by diners eager to experience the best of Japanese cuisine.
As EPCOT continues to evolve, the expansion of Takumi-Tei’s availability is a reminder that the park is not only focused on bringing new attractions but also on enhancing the guest experience through exceptional dining. The change will offer more guests the opportunity to explore this fine dining gem in the heart of World Showcase.
For those planning a trip to EPCOT, especially during one of the park’s seasonal festivals, this is an ideal opportunity to plan an unforgettable evening at Takumi-Tei. With its increased availability, more visitors can now enjoy the best that EPCOT’s dining scene has to offer.
