If you’re one for rewatching Disney’s 1960 adventure film Swiss Family Robinson, the 1998 adaptation The New Swiss Family Robinson, or the hit adventure series Lost (2004-2010) that took TV prime time by storm and was infamous for its romances and thrills, then there’s a new entertainment source for you!

Choices, one of the mobile story games by Pixelberry Studios that is renowned for its detailed storytelling and its unprecedented level of player agency, has made one of its VIP immersive visual stories available to all players. The playable story is called “Shipwrecked“, and it’s perfect for anyone who loves romantic tropical escapades, high-seas adventures, or the previous hit Choices series called “Endless Summer”!

One of the Choices app’s biggest draws is its incredible level of detail and interactive capabilities. The game is free, although you earn diamonds over time that you can use to play chapters faster or to get special experiences within the storylines, and players can choose everything from their character’s gender and appearance to their character’s choices and love interests. This is no typical adventure for players, however!

Since the Choices stories are meticulously well-written with surprisingly high quality, the plots are intricate, and the romances are often in-depth slow burns, players will find that their choices are not only relevant but sometimes even life-altering for other characters. The plots are usually very long and exciting, particularly when it comes to adventure books.

You also don’t have to have a romantic part of your story if you’d prefer not to, although that does depend on the story. For this new book “Shipwrecked”, for example, you are meant to have a romantic partner. And while you usually can date many characters at once, in this book you only choose one love interest to stick with right away!

The book begins with your character, an ecologist, requesting passage from a surly (albeit attractive) captain to embark on an adventure at Moku Island and examine the plant life before the South Pacific island’s volcano erupts. Predictably, the boat encounters a storm–and soon, you and your love interest are stranded on the volcanic island together. But, in keeping with most Choices adventures, this story’s setting has its fair share of mystical mysteries–and soon your romantic shipwreck experience involves epic fantasy adventures!

As usual, Pixelberry Studios’ experienced game writers excel with their descriptive writing and the animation of the game. Most Choices romance books are a little more over-the-top with the romances than the other books, but the setting and plot of “Shipwrecked” both counteract that nicely.

This book, and most Choices games, are definitely not meant for children to play! There are plenty of explicit scenes, although you can keep things relatively PG in almost every chapter if you want to, and sometimes these games do have profanity as well. If you’re looking for a good follow-up to accompany this book after you play it, after you play the popular “Endless Summer” Choices trilogy, or after you watch the Lost TV show, then try the new “Uncharted” movie! This movie is based on the popular video game series of the same name, and it includes mystical, comical, romantic tropical adventures. Another option is always the 1812 classic The Swiss Family Robinson book by Johann David Wyss!

Other popular Choices story games include “High School Story”, “Queen B”, “Open Heart”, the sexy vampire thriller “Blood Bound”, and the lighthearted princess adventure “The Royal Romance”. New chapters are released weekly for ongoing books, but books that are already completely published have all of their chapters available right away.
