Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland Gear Up For ‘Uncharted’

As the February premiere of Nathan Drake’s first official movie comes closer and closer, co-stars Tom Holland (from Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Mark Wahlberg have been starting to make the rounds with promotional efforts. The Sony Pictures Uncharted movie, which is based on the award-winning Naughty Dog video games that star treasure hunter and adventurer Nathan Drake (as well as his beloved friends Chloe Frazer and Charlie Cutter, his mentor Victor Sullivan, his brother Samuel Drake, and his wife Elena Fisher), has been long-awaited by fans as multiple movie attempts have happened over the years.

While some fans were less than thrilled by the casting of Mark and Tom (especially since actor Nathan Fillion was very eager to play Nathan Drake, and even played the role in his own fan film), other fans have been excited by the actors’ involvement. In October, the pair offered some glimpses behind-the-scenes of the movie, and Tom also recently revealed some clues about the movie in his GQ interview. Now, a new poster for “the race for the greatest treasure never found” has also been revealed!

We already knew from the trailer that the Uncharted prequel (which tells the story of young Nathan Drake as he teams up with Victor Sullivan) takes some clear inspiration from the third game, “Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception”. The famous cargo plane sequence is in the trailer, as are many of the signature Nathan Drake experiences (such as exploring medieval tombs, running around in the desert, swimming in exotic locations, and exchanging witty banter).

We also know that Chloe Frazer will be making an appearance and that she’ll be played by Sophia Ali; even though Nathan and Chloe (spoiler alert) don’t end up together, she was a fan favorite in the video games and even starred in the fifth “Uncharted” game without Nathan Drake! Antonio Banderas (best known for The Mask of Zorro) will be playing the movie’s villain, a rival treasure hunter who is competing with Nate–and although fans can only hope that Nolan North will have a cameo in the film, since he has voiced Nathan Drake for all of the games and was seen on set with Tom, our fingers are crossed!
