Disney fans speculated earlier this week about the reason behind the constant breakdowns of a classic ride, even suggesting it was time it moved on.
The Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are two of the best places in the world for guests to enjoy a Disney vacation. Each Disney Resort has Theme Parks that are beloved by fans—like, Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, Disneyland Park, and Disney California Adventure in Disneyland.
The Disney experience at these parks is made by their uniquely immersive experience, including character meet ‘n’ greets, rides and attractions, dining options, and more. However, even with a park is as popular as a Disney Park, things can sometimes go wrong—rides can break down, and things can go awry.
Earlier this week, fans decided they’d had enough and took to social media to speculate about one particular ride and its constant breakdowns in the recent past. u/DisneyKing1955 shared on Reddit,
Jungle cruise breaking down
I understand that many rides are breaking down due to maintenance/guests. But I keep seeing daily jungle cruise showing temporarily down and I find it the weirdest ride to breakdown since there are multiple boats. Does anyone know why jungle cruise keeps shutting down?
Reddit user u/beastman_robert commented, “Yes there are multiple boats but all it takes is one boat breaking down and they all get stuck because they share a single track. In order to clear a broken down boat they have to back one up to it and tow it in.”
Considering how old the ride is, many guests even pointed out that it’s not a matter of if the ride breaks down but much more a question of when. Reddit user u/DocBrutus said, “This ride is an antique at this point. It’s older than a lot of us. It’s gonna go down.”
It’s important to note that this is all speculation, and Disney has no plans to shut down Jungle Cruise. The attraction is not on for a refurbishment anytime soon, either.
There have been updates to rides, and this one in particular, announced in the past, though, so here’s looking to Disney Imagineers slating Jungle Cruise for another update, instituting changes to help the attraction proceed more smoothly.
