Spring is right around the corner, and at Walt Disney World, that means the opening of this year’s EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival!

This year’s festival will run a total of 125 days from March 2-July 4, 2022, and the event will feature returning favorite events, activities, topiaries, and tastings, plus a host of new experiences to celebrate everything in bloom for the whole family.

A returning favorite and major part of every EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival are the character topiaries that Guests will find places around the park for photo ops. Guests will be delighted to see some fan-favorite topiaries return, some with new looks, plus all-new topiaries created especially for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.”

The main entrance topiary this year will feature Goofy with a birthday cake inspired by the celebration currently underway for the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. New topiaries are currently in production for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which once the festival begins will be found in the Germany pavilion in World Showcase, as well as Lumiere and Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast (1991) in the France pavilion, and Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King (1994) near the Imagination pavilion.

As Guests travel across the bridge to World Showcase, they will be able to take in the sights and scents of the season at an all-new fragrance garden presented by Scentsy. The garden will come complete with butterfly topiaries for floral photo ops plus six scent stations to learn more about these unique aromas.

AdventHealth returns to this year’s festival to present The Health Full Trail which offers ways for families to play together and learn tips for staying healthy. And, Outdoor Escapes will be a new experience at the festival presented by OFF! Repellents gives Guests some space for relaxation while showing them how to create their very own outdoor escapes at home. Bambi’s Butterfly House will also be located nearby allowing Guests a chance to see unique and beautiful butterflies up close.

A favorite returning event that is back at the festival for the first time since the beginning of 2020 is the Garden Rocks Concert Series! The event includes internationally recognized artists performing at the America Gardens Theater Friday through Monday while local bands take the stage Tuesday through Thursday. Some of the artists performing at this year’s concert series include: CeCe Winans, Tommy DeCarlo, The Guess Who, Rick Springfield, Kool & The Gang, Melina León and Claudia Leitte. Dining packages are available for select events, too. Find information on booking dining at FreshEPCOT.com.

For foodies, the 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will feature 198 outdoor kitchens including returning favorites like EPCOT Farmers Feast (with rotating menu options), The Citrus Blossom, Magnolia Terrace and Tangierine Café: Flavors of the Medina, and more. The Garden Graze is also back allowing for a foodie stroll around the park in exchange for a special surprise.

Flower & Garden Festival often comes with some of our favorite Walt Disney World merchandise so we are excited to see the return of items featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Orange Bird, Figment, Spike the Bee, and more.

Not mentioned in the most recent announcement from Disney are gardens we usually see every year like the Shakespeare garden or the English tea garden in the United Kingdom pavilion in World Showcase, however, we are expecting more details later and will keep you updated.

We hope to be back with more details on this year’s EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival soon. In the meantime, visit FreshEPCOT.com to learn more about the event and find booking information for dining packages.
