Although most Disney visitors’ and Disney Cast Members’ focus is on the holiday celebrations right now (whether it’s Disney’s holiday dining specials, holiday deals, or holiday shows), there are some people in Disney who are already turning their minds toward spring! On the Disney Parks Blog, the return of EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival was recently announced.
Apparently, the “horticulture team at Walt Disney World Resort is busy producing topiaries, hanging baskets, flower towers and more in preparation for the 2022 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival“. According to the blog post, “this popular and fragrant festival springs to life” in March (specifically, on March 2) and lasts through July 4. Guests can expect a menagerie of “fresh cuisine, colorful gardens, playful topiaries and vibrant entertainment”!
Although this Festival is always a big hit (as are many EPCOT festivals), the fact that Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary celebration is happening also means that there will be some particularly special treats. The anniversary bonuses will include “a new main entrance topiary display” inspired by Goofy and “a 50th-themed birthday cake”.
As usual, this festival will involve “thousands of blooms forming colorful, living panoramas all around EPCOT”, and EPCOT Guests can enjoy an organized stroll through the display via the Health Full Trail (presented by AdventHealth) along the Imagination walkway. There will also be a focus on wellness during this walk, with health tips included!
When it comes to the aforementioned cuisine, the festival will have eighteen Outdoor Kitchens with fresh spring offerings, and live music will take place courtesy of the Garden Rocks Concert Series at the America Gardens Theatre. If cuisine, greenery, elaborate topiaries, music, and wellness sound like your kind of fun, then head to EPCOT in the spring (you’ll need “both valid admission and a Park reservation for EPCOT on the same date”) to enjoy it!
