Just four days before the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of 2025, Walt Disney World Resort has made a disappointing announcement for Magic Kingdom Park guests. The news that one of the holiday season’s most beloved traditions will not take place during the first party night arrived after every November date sold out.
A Costly Christmas Celebration

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most popular hard-ticketed events, offering guests an after-hours holiday experience filled with cookies, cocoa, themed entertainment, and exclusive character meet-and-greets. The event runs from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, but guests are allowed to enter the park as early as 4:00 p.m. for extra time to enjoy Magic Kingdom’s festivities. Tickets for 2025 range from $169 to $229 per person, and the first event on November 7 ($199) sold out quickly after it went on sale.
Frozen Holiday Surprise Missing From the Lineup

On Monday, Magic Kingdom released its performance schedule for Frozen Holiday Surprise, the dazzling stage spectacular that transforms Cinderella Castle into a sparkling, icy masterpiece. The show debuted in 2023 and quickly became a fan favorite, featuring Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff in a castle-lighting ceremony set to music from Frozen (2013).

In 2024, Frozen Holiday Surprise returned on November 5—three days before the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party event of the year. However, according to Walt Disney World Resort’s official website, the 2025 version won’t premiere until November 10, three days after the first after-hours event. This means guests attending the opening night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will miss out on the castle show entirely.
The schedule currently lists performances beginning November 10, typically offered twice per night at 6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m., though some evenings only include one show. For example, on November 29, only a single 6:15 p.m. performance is scheduled.
What Guests Can Expect This Season

While Frozen Holiday Surprise is absent from the first party’s lineup, other major offerings are still confirmed, including Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, and exclusive party snacks, merchandise, and entertainment. The show is likely to continue performing through December 31, although only dates through November 29 are currently listed on Walt Disney World Resort’s official webpage.
Guests planning to visit Magic Kingdom Park during the holiday season should check the My Disney Experience app or the official Walt Disney World Resort website for the most accurate performance times and updates.
