While Gamora’s dieting experience is a humorous idea, and offers a fun behind-the-scenes look into the filming of the Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it’s also a conscious health choice for the actress behind the green skin. Zoe Saldana is known for prioritizing her health, not only due to her upbringing but also due to Hashimoto’s disease. She has been vocal in the past about her focus on clean eating, strengthening exercises, and the importance of mental health.

The cleanse that Zoe Saldana (and Gamora) are currently doing is called the Clean Program, and it’s a 21-day cleanse that involves drinking nutritional shakes, avoiding sweets, and avoiding the following food groups that could potentially cause inflammation: dairy, eggs, nightshades, soy, gluten, strawberries, corn, or red meat.

The program was created by Dr. Alejandro Junger MD, who has also written books about the Clean Program. According to the website, the Clean 21 version of the program costs $475 and “is a 21-Day program of shakes, herbs, and supplements that allow the body to restore its natural ability to heal itself”.

Aside from her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Zoe Saldana is also known for playing Neytiri in the James Cameron Avatar movie series (with Avatar 2 coming soon after years of delay) as well as Lieutenant Uhura in the Star Trek movies. She has also starred in several action movies and dramas.
