Disney Guests have gone through many adjustments recently as Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort undergo changes, with the most notable change being the switch to Genie+ and Lightning Lanes, and the changes are continuing!
Journalist Scott Gustin shared on Twitter that three Walt Disney World Resort attractions are being changed from Individual Lightning Lane selection attractions to Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions, and he also suggested that Expedition Everest might become another Individual Lightning Lane attraction!
NEW: Effective Feb. 25 – Aug. 7 at WDW, Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway will move to Genie+ Lightning Lane and no longer be offered as Individual LL.

In the Tweet shown above, Scott Gustin shared that the EPCOT attraction Frozen Ever After, the Magic Kingdom attraction Space Mountain, and the Hollywood Studios attraction Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will all be switched to Genie+ Lightning Lane status instead of each ride being accessible with Individual Lightning Lane selection.
This change in designation will last from February 25 to August 7; when asked in comments on his Twitter post, Gustin said that the choice of time frame was “absolutely” due to the high traffic that is anticipated in the summer.
Scott Gustin also confirmed in the Twitter thread that the Disney World roller coaster Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain won’t be up and running again until the end of April!
According to Gustin, April 30 is the soonest that Disney Guests can expect Expedition Everest to reopen — and when this ride does reopen, the roller coaster will either be designated as an Individual Lightning Lane selection attraction or switched to a Genie+ attraction like Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Note: Expedition Everest is closed for refurbishment through at least April 30. Whenever it reopens, Disney will make an update to its status as Individual LL or Genie+ LL.

Time will tell whether or not Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain becomes a Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction instead of an Individual Lightning Lane attraction at Walt Disney World Resort when the Disney ride returns from refurbishment!
The complimentary Disney Genie service and the add-on Genie+ have received many negative reviews from Disney World Guests, but somehow still been a financial success for the Walt Disney Company despite the negative user experiences and Disney fans’ growing discontent overall.
Are you a fan of the Disney Genie service and add-ons like Genie+ and the Lightning Lanes, or do you still prefer the now-defunct Fastpasses over Lightning Lane attractions?
