Change happens! While we love nostalgic touches at Walt Disney World Resort, we sometimes understand that “out with the old, in with the new” is inevitable. BoardWalk Bakery is gone… with Disney revealing the latest on its replacement.
Disney seemed to press the reset button after COVID closures in 2020. While much of Disney is back up and running as it was in pre-COVID days, there are several changes and closures that we’re shuffling through.
Experiences like the Spirit of Aloha dinner show landed on Disney’s chopping block. EPCOT’s Restaurant Marrakesh has seemingly been replaced. And now, the BoardWalk at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort is getting a makeover.
We’ve said our official goodbyes to ESPN Club restaurant as the dismantling of the old venue has been underway. With “The Cake Bake Shop” replacing ESPN Club… it was no question that BoardWalk Bakery nearby would be on the way out.

Time to say goodbye to BoardWalk Bakery as its sweet treats are leaving, and a deli-style venue is on the way in. Introducing BoardWalk Deli.
As you stroll the stunning BoardWalk, get ready to enjoy deli flavors from New York to the Jersey Shore.
Disney has revealed the latest on the new venue, which will feature breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, menu items will include options such as:
“Everything Bagel Sandwich with cage-free eggs, sausage, and cheddar cheese, a Bagel Breakfast Sandwich with cage-free eggs, bacon, sweet caramelized onions, and cheddar cheese, or a Plant-based Ciabatta Sandwich with “egg” Florentine, plant-based cheese, tomato jam, and arugula that provides an exciting contrast of flavors.”
Lunch and dinner will feature several options, including fresh deli sandwiches to enjoy mid-day or after a Disney Park day.
“Choose from a variety of cold and hot deli sandwiches served on traditional marble rye, fluffy ciabatta or soft and springy focaccia breads. As with the breakfast bagels, all breads are baked fresh in-house.”
Disney has noted there will be a signature Italian Sub and a Warm Pastrami Reuben. The plant-based option will be a Veggie Crunch Muffaletta. You can also opt for a Roasted Chicken Sandwich or the Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup.
Like a true deli shop, Guests can add a whole dill pickle or sides of house-made chips, coleslaw, or soup.
And while yes, we’ll miss the BoardWalk Bakery sweets, BoardWalk Deli plans to feature a few show-stopping sweets of its own.
If you’re a fan of Cannolis, these delicious bites will have a touch of Mickey. There will also be Blueberry Scones, New Jersey Crumbcake, and the New York-style Half-moon Cookie.
Pastry-lovers will appreciate Cream Puff and Raspberry Danish, with the beloved warm and gooey Cinnamon Yummies returning.
True dessert classics will also be available, including cookies, Brownie Cheesecake, brownies, the Cookies & Cream Cupcake, and the 50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcake.
New sips will also be introduced at BoardWalk Deli, including organic wine spritzes by Ramona in flavors of dry grapefruit, blood orange, and Meyer lemon.
