Guest Accused of Trying to Steal From Minnie Mouse

There are so many incredible parts of a vacation at Disneyland Resort. Not only does Disneyland hold the honor of being Walt’s original theme park, but there are so many amazing rides, great food, and gorgeous fireworks. However, one of the things that sets Disneyland apart from other theme parks — even the Parks at Walt Disney World Resort — is the chance to have wonderful character interactions. When walking around Disneyland Park, it’s not unusual to see a ton of characters — like Mickey, Minnie, Alice, and Peter Pan — walking around the Park, interacting with Guests.

Disneyland’s amazing Cast Members are trained to interact with Guests in truly unique ways. They can make each trip to Disneyland memorable and special. However, it is always important for Guests to remember that, under the costumes, the Cast Members are regular people. Their space should be respected, and they should be treated in a courteous manner at all times.

Sadly, sometimes it seems that Guests forget that all characters have real people behind them. We have seen Guests touch the Cast Members inappropriately, which always creates an uncomfortable situation for everyone.

Unfortunately, a video is going viral for an uncomfortable interaction someone witnessed on Main Street, U.S.A., between a Guest and Minnie Mouse. According to the video, the Guest hugged Minnie, but then continued to grab her. She then reached for and held onto Minnie’s wrist. The Cast Member handling Minnie had to intervene and tell the Guest not to hold onto her.

Commenters were shocked by the woman’s behavior and many, including @Chiquitika, said that it looked like the woman was trying to steal the bracelet off of Minnie’s wrist. Minnie is currently wearing a special outfit as Disneyland celebrates the 100th Anniversary of The Walt Disney Company.

Is it just me or does it look like she’s trying to take her bracelet off ?

Others said that it was sad that Guests needed to be reminded not to grab onto the characters. Thankfully, another Cast Member is always there to keep the character safe while they are interacting with the public.
