Guests in Shock as Disney World Overhauls Hotel Parking Rules!

Walt Disney World Resort has long been a place where families and Disney fans create memories that last a lifetime. With so many attractions, dining options, and resorts, the magic never stops. However, managing all these aspects for such a massive audience isn’t without its challenges.

Among the most frequently discussed topics is parking—something that many visitors don’t always consider until they find themselves struggling for a spot.

For years, Disney World’s hotel parking policy has been fairly straightforward. But recently, the resort has made a significant change that will affect how visitors access parking at a popular Disney World deluxe hotel. This change is primarily focused on ensuring that hotel guests and those with dining reservations can park without unnecessary obstacles.

Let’s take a closer look at the new parking rules that have been introduced and what they mean for Disney guests.

According to a tweet from Jeremy (@mainstmagic), starting today, visitors dining at Tambu Lounge, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, or Wailulu Bar & Grill are allowed to park at the Polynesian Resort from 2 p.m. until close. It is an exciting change, considering reservations are not used for these dining spots.

HUGE NEWS!! (And maybe even breaking?)

Starting today, guests are now allowed to park AT the Poly if they are dining at Wailulu, Tambu, or Trader Sam’s starting at 2pm until close!!

Now there is no excuse to not visit 3 of the best spots on property!

This exciting update makes dining at these popular spots more accessible, as guests can now park at the resort specifically for these dining experiences. This new policy is likely aimed at attracting more visitors to these restaurants, especially Wailulu Bar & Grill, which has been struggling to draw in guests.

Disney’s decision to adjust the parking rules is a clear attempt to bring more people to these great dining locations, making it easier to enjoy one of the most sought-after resorts on property.

By offering easier parking access to guests dining at certain locations, Disney is creating a more enjoyable and convenient experience. Tambu Lounge, located just in front of ‘Ohana, is another popular spot where diners can enjoy the ‘Ohana Noodles and Pork Dumplings even if they aren’t able to secure a reservation for the main restaurant.

These dishes, which are also available at Tambu Lounge, offer a great alternative for those looking to enjoy the flavors of ‘Ohana in a more relaxed setting.

What’s Next for Disney’s Parking Policy?

With the introduction of this new parking policy at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, many are wondering if this is just the beginning of more widespread changes across Disney World hotels. While we don’t yet know if other resorts will adopt similar rules, it seems likely that Disney will continue to adjust its policies to accommodate the growing number of visitors and improve the overall guest experience.

For now, if you’re planning to visit the Polynesian Resort or dine at Trader Sam’s, Tambu Lounge, or Wailulu Bar & Grill, make sure to take advantage of the new parking access. The policy change is a welcome relief for dining guests and may set a precedent for future updates at other Disney resorts.

As Disney continues to refine its parking policies, it’s clear that they are focusing on improving convenience for guests with hotel reservations and dining plans. What are your thoughts on the new parking rules? Do you think this will make dining at Disney resorts easier for everyone, or are there other issues that still need to be addressed? 1. If you want to eat at one of the restaurants in the Polynesian, do you have to pay for parking and if so how much is it?

  2. with our trip about a month away, we have made multiple dinning reservations throughout the resort (park hopping restaurants is one of our things to do while at disney) but not to any of the listed above locations – staying on property we use disney transportation so parking is never an issue it may just take a bit more planning and time….
