The incident of the family jumping off the ride vehicle at Disneyland’s Space Mountain is making its presence known once again.
Every once in a while, we hear of some of the craziest stories that happen at a Disney Park. We have all heard stories of bad behavior from guests where they choose to pick fights with other park-goers or sometimes even cast members; worse still, when guests choose to endanger themselves or other guests by explicitly ignoring cast member instructions.
A few months ago, one such incident went viral online when a family put themselves in danger while at the Disneyland Resort, and the incident is making waves once again online.
Family Jumps Off Disneyland Ride Vehicle on Space Mountain
Earlier this year, we reported on a video that was making the rounds on TikTok of a family who jumped out of a Hyperspace Mountain (the recent retheme of Disneyland’s Space Mountain) ride vehicle.
In the video, the man, who we assume to be the father of the group, squeezes himself out from behind his safety bar and gets out of the vehicle, climbing out onto the track. He then helps a woman we assume to be his wife out of the vehicle, and then a young girl who is likely the couple’s daughter out.

It’s a situation that shocked many guests back when it first happened, and once again now, considering how dangerous it is as a choice. Space Mountain is known to be one of the most thrilling rides.
It’s so popular it literally has versions all over the world, including at the Walt Disney World Resort, Tokyo Disneyland in Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris (where it’s again, Hyperspace Mountain), and Hong Kong Disneyland.
It has had various seasonal overlays with some of the more popular ones being its current retheme—Hyperspace Mountain, and even Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy.
But popular as the ride may be, this doesn’t excuse the behavior of this family or any other guest. Cast members are trained to be able to manage emergency situations, including ride evacuations and malfunctions, and no matter how bored or impatient one might get on a ride, it’s imperative to never try to take things into your own hands in this manner.
These rules are put in place in order to allow all guests a safe experience at the Disney Parks.
