Even though there are some (as Josh Gad calls them) “pathetic” people who have been complaining about the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel in the new Little Mermaid live-action movie, there are many other people who are thrilled about the popular actress’s new role — including this marine biologist, who believes that Halle’s new role will actually have a direct impact on ocean conservation!
Halle Bailey has earned many people’s admiration after completing a particularly tough filming process for the live-action adaptation of the 1989 Little Mermaid film, but also due to her kind and unfailingly positive responses to the onslaught of hatred that targeted her after her casting was announced.
Now, we have just seen Halle Bailey endear herself to onlookers once again during a heartwarming interaction with a big Ariel fan! Halle Bailey was at Walt Disney World Resort recently, and came across an ardent Little Mermaid fan who happened to also be a small girl.

Halle Bailey was in Walt Disney World Resort to kick off her time as a Disney Dreamers Academy Ambassador (with an introduction by Kelly Rowland), and (after also posing for a picture with Princess Tiana, another Disney princess who has been making headlines) the singer and actress was thrilled when she met the tiny fan named Mila Rose.
The young actress (and sister of singer Chloe Bailey) actually picked up Mila Rose for a hug, and continued to hold Mila Rose while the child clung to her tightly. Bailey was clearly moved by the young girl’s affection (take a look at the video from the encounter, shown above) and held the little fan for as long as she could, calling her “pretty” and “sweet”.
Halle Bailey later shared the experience on Instagram, saying that “this beautiful lady Mila Rose…made me cry. She just hugged me so tight.”
There might be a lot of controversies associated with Disney these days, but clearly, the Disney magic is still alive and well when real-life Disney princesses meet the fans who they are inspiring!
