The brand-new live-action remake of the 1989 classic The Little Mermaid has just come to movie theaters today, and Disney Resorts are wasting no time in establishing the ‘new’ Ariel’s presence in the Disney Parks!
Character Meet and Greets featuring the new live-action Ariel (portrayed in the controversial new film by actress and Beyoncé protégé Halle Bailey) have just started, coinciding perfectly with the film’s highly-anticipated release.
According to journalist Scott Gustin, “Starting today, Ariel from the live-action story “The Little Mermaid” will be making special appearances at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris.

But Wait — There’s More!
The Disney Parks Blog confirmed the news, adding that Little Mermaid fans and Disney Fanatics can also enjoy “stunning concept art from the development of the new film” in the Walt Disney Presents area within Hollywood Studios at Disney World, as well as “special props from the film” and “an exclusive sneak peek of the film”!
Aside from Walt Disney Presents, Ariel herself will be showing up on the terrace of “Prince Eric’s shoreside castle” in Walt Disney World Resort!
Where Exactly Will The ‘New Ariel’ Be?
In Disneyland, Ariel will be located in close proximity to “it’s a small world” within Fantasyland, at a location reminiscent of “Eric’s castle library.”
In Disneyland Paris, this little mermaid will offer a particularly interactive experience since “Ariel and her friends will invite guests to dance and play”!
Even though The Little Mermaid has only been in movie theaters for a matter of hours, critics have already seen the film and provided some very mixed reviews — and the movie’s soundtrack has one particularly-vitriolic song that has actually become famous for its poor quality!
