In her typical woodland princess garb, Giselle is all about simple but feminine beautification. Use your freshly-washed hands to apply a small amount of foundation that matches your skin tone (try Kelly Marie Trang’s favorite “clean” foundation and concealer for this!), or perhaps a BB or CC cream for an even lighter amount of coverage! Really massage the skin products in well, going up and out from the center of your face; the resulting massage will help with lymphatic drainage and depuffing while simultaneously giving your cheeks a natural flush. If you have paler skin, use as little makeup as possible; a lighter touch and less makeup will look far more flattering on pale skin than heavy makeup does!

For blush, try a clean cream blush to enhance the flush from your massage. The taupe pinks or browns from above are surprisingly flattering, and the coral shades give you an incredible lift (mentally, too)! Simply tap the blush on with your fingers or a stippling brush, and apply it very sparingly, because cream blushes are often very pigmented. You won’t need much! For hair, pull a little of it back into a delicate braid or twist, making your hairstyle a half-updo. If you want your loose hair to have some curls like Giselle’s, then just use the good old-fashioned pin-curling method (i.e. tying some socks, tights, or clean rags around sections of your hair and sleeping in them).

For Giselle’s daytime Disney princess outfit, finding a boutique that sells bespoke clothing or vintage clothing is a good idea. Jasmine’s Vintage Closet is particularly good, and the dresses below would be great choices for Giselle (check out the white garden dress for her more formal look)!

For the finishing touches, on to eye makeup and lips! Apply a light nude eyeshadow all over your eyelid as a base, then add a little bit of a warm brown shade into your eyelid’s crease. Next, tightline your upper lash line with black eyeliner, and add lots of mascara (wiggle the wand back and forth to get more volume)! You can also add a few individual false lashes, if you desire (a similar makeup tutorial is below, but with less dramatic mascara and more eyeshadow). Lastly, do a soft pink lip balm or gloss, and you’re ready! Are you going to try this Halloween costume and Disney princess tutorial to celebrate the upcoming release of Disenchanted? Or are you looking for something a little more tomboyish and low-maintenance, such as Keira Knightley’s looks as Elizabeth Swann from Pirates of the Caribbean? If so, we’ve got the exact hard-to-find details about her look right here!
