Just when things seem to finally be getting back to normal at the Disney Parks throughout the Free World, fans are thrown a reminder that we still have a long way to go.
While the Disneyland Resort in California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando are seeing a pullback of Park Hopping restrictions and even the need for Theme Park Reservations, another Disney Park is just now allowing its Guests to hug their favorite characters once again.
On January 11, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort announced the end of distanced character experiences.
Hong Kong Disneyland Insider @hkdlfantasy shared the news on Twitter, saying, “BREAKING: HKDL resumes physical interactions between characters and guests from today.”

Like the other Disney Theme Parks around the world, Hong Kong Disneyland required Guests to have character interactions that were physically distanced as part of enduring COVID-19 related policies. The Hong Kong Park has had trouble returning to the state of normalcy as its counterparts in America, Japan, and France, being ordered to shut down more than once by the local government, although not as much as Shanghai Disneyland, which has been shuttered longer than any other Disney Park due to Covid.
