Set to open in 2031, Universal Studios Great Britain is still in the early stages, but rumors suggest that it will host a Harry Potter-themed area alongside several other familiar franchises like James Bond, Minions, Jurassic World, and Paddington.
If true, it will be the first fully immersive Wizarding World land in the UK — the very place where the Harry Potter books and movies are set. So far, fans in Britain have had to settle for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. Though it offers an incredibly immersive behind-the-scenes look, it lacks that theme park magic.
The existing Wizarding World lands that span Universal Studios resorts in Florida, California, Japan, and China, re-create iconic areas like Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and Hogwarts Castle, all drawn from the original film series in terms of aesthetics.
They’re stunning in scale and detail, but they’re far removed from the story’s roots. But the idea of a UK-based Harry Potter land opens up exciting new possibilities, especially if it draws inspiration from HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter TV series rather than the films.
This new park could offer a fresh take on Hogwarts and the Wizarding World, reflecting the tone, design, and new cast of the HBO series — whatever it all ends up looking like.

This would give the new themed area a distinct identity, setting it apart from its predecessors. Just imagine wandering through a Hogwarts that doesn’t just replicate film sets but captures the spirit of a new generation’s Harry Potter story.
With the HBO series slated to debut in 2026, and Universal Studios Great Britain expected to open well before the show wraps (its seven seasons are set to span 10 years), the park could become the definitive destination for fans eager to experience the franchise’s roots.
Warner Bros. and Universal are obviously preparing for a relaunch of the franchise, and placing the new Wizarding World land in Britain makes perfect sense — after all, it’s where the magic began. Until then, fans can experience more magic at the soon-to-open Epic Universe in Orlando, which features brand-new Wizarding World areas.
