It will, unfortunately, be no surprise to Disney Fanatics to hear that Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and international Disney Resort guests are having a really hard time behaving in a civilized manner.
Fistfights, cast member harassment, and reselling have all been enormous problems in Disney parks as of late.
We’ve even seen celebrities sexually harassing Disney performers in the past few months — and one former Disney princess has just revealed one of the more intense close calls that she witnessed during her time as a Disney character performer in a Disney theme park!
Hunter Haag (a TikToker who is best known for her revealing posts about her “traumatizing” time as a Disney character performer and Disney princess) recently spoke about “inappropriate” guest behavior during character meet-and-greets.
Hunter, who was primarily “friends” with Tangled (2010) heroine Rapunzel and Beauty and the Beast (1991) princess Belle, worked as a Disney performer from 2016 to 2021 before being laid off from the position due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Would You Do This to a Disney Princess?
In her most recent TikTok video, Haag shed some light on a particularly harrowing experience that she saw another Disney princess undergo.
“A dad comes over and he thinks it’s funny to unzip [your dress] bodice,” Haag said, describing the situation to her viewers. “In that situation, that is pretty extreme.”
Haag revealed that the approach involved in that situation “definitely” required an immediate retreat for the princess in the form of a character-led excuse (such as Belle sliding over to her Beast) that then allowed the performer to speak to their “character attendant” and leave the scene.
“There’s not a lot you can do other than asking for help,” Haag reluctantly admitted. “And of course you would just hold your bodice closed as much as you can.”
Do NOT Kiss the Girl
According to this former princess, a kiss on the cheek is often requested by male Disney guests (particularly fathers or older men) as well, but Hunter Haag said that “we [meaning Disney performers] aren’t really supposed to allow that.”
Another TikTok user mentioned that they have “been hearing a lot of of these dad stories from birthday party princesses as well,” meaning that you don’t have to be a sanctioned Disney employee to deal with the same harassment issues while in costume as a Disney character!
Disney princesses are not the only Disney characters who have to contend with lascivious Disney park guests, either; apparently, actors who play Tarzan or Captain Jack Sparrow have to ward off handsy admirers (and turn down hotel keys) far too often, as well!
