StarWars.com recently dove into the details and inside scoop when it comes to Lord Vader’s suit. We learned some new interesting details ourselves and thought you might as well. Take a look at what they found.
Helmet
This is the most important aspect of the suit and probably the most iconic as well. This part of his suit allows Vader to breathe, but it goes beyond that. The helmet is made up of three parts; a protective neck gaiter, the primary mask, and the outer shell. All three parts work together to help Vader in different ways. The gaiter helps support his neck, the. mask is where his respiratory system is and the lenses aid his vision. Finally the shell of the helmet locks together (in the famous noise) to secure everything in place.
Body of Suit
The rest of the suit had the overall function of protection and a shield for his body. The different parts were designed to help protected his damaged body from receiving anymore damage. The belt was used to help monitor and regulate Vader’s vital systems to help keep him alive.
