Amazon MGM Studios is moving full speed ahead with its plans for James Bond's future on the big screen, but another project connected to the iconic spy may have reached the end of the road.

James Bond Movie Reboot
The studio is currently developing a brand-new James Bond film that will launch an entirely new continuity separate from the era led by Daniel Craig, whose tenure as 007 concluded with No Time to Die (2021).
The upcoming reboot has already secured major creative talent behind the camera. Denis Villeneuve, best known for Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and the recent Dune films, is attached to direct, while Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is writing the screenplay.
Recently, Amazon MGM also confirmed that the search for its next Bond actor is underway, with casting director Nina Gold reportedly leading the hunt for the franchise's next leading man. But while anticipation continues to build around the film reboot, a separate Bond project appears to be in jeopardy.

007 Project Canceled
According to The Sun, Amazon has shelved the Prime Video reality competition series 007: Road to a Million after two seasons.
Hosted by Succession star Brian Cox, the series challenged pairs of contestants to complete Bond-inspired missions around the world while competing for a substantial cash prize. The show debuted on Prime Video on November 10, 2023, before returning for a second season in 2025. However, it now appears unlikely to return for a third outing.
According to The Sun, a Prime Video spokeswoman said: “There are no current plans to extend beyond the two seasons.”

It's important to note that Amazon has made any public announcement, and no official statement regarding its long-term future has been released beyond the comments reported by The Sun.
Fortunately, we still have the film to look forward to. Meanwhile, Bond's gaming future also appears to be on much firmer ground.
IO Interactive's 007 First Light launched on May 27 and has quickly become one of the franchise's biggest recent successes. Starring Irish actor Patrick Gibson as a younger version of Bond, the third-person action-adventure title serves as an origin story that follows the future agent as he attempts to “earn his number.”
The game has received strong reviews and reportedly sold nearly three million copies during its first two weeks on sale.
For now, Amazon MGM's confirmed James Bond plans remain focused on the upcoming film reboot, while fans wait to learn who will ultimately inherit the licence to kill.
