In 1997, an unknown British writer would publish a book that would change the world. That book was Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and that writer was J.K. Rowling.
Since then, there have been six more Harry Potter novels — The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows. Those seven novels were turned into 8 movies and massive theme park lands.

Rowling quickly went from a single mother collecting welfare to a celebrity author. In fact, she was the first author ever to reach billionaire status. Over the years, she has received a number of accolades, including the Order of the Companions of Honour, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and the Royal Society of Literature.
Sadly, over the past few years, J.K. Rowling has gone from a beloved author to a controversial firestorm.
Rowling has always painted herself as a pretty liberal individual, making large donations to the UK’s Labour Party and calling President Obama and Hillary Clinton “extraordinary.” She also opposed England’s Brexit deal and said that she believed “racists and bigots” were controlling the move to make the country more isolated.
However, there is one area where she differs from many left-leaning people — her views on transgender people. And her views have quickly destroyed her reputation among many Harry Potter fans.
In 2019, Rowling publicly defended Maya Forstater, a woman whose employment contract was terminated after she made several anti-trans statements. Rowling said that transgender people should be able to live safe lives but did not think that women should be punished “for stating that sex [gender] is real.”
From there, things have gone downhill, and they have gone downhill very fast.
Over the years, Rowling has railed against the trans community, believing that transgender women are not women, And she has said that she would “happily” go to prison if it meant she could continue to voice her anti-trans views. She has since been given the TERF label, which means “Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist.”

Every year, Pride Month is celebrated throughout the month of June. Rowling continued to disappoint and upset fans — and live up to her TERF title — when she celebrated the end of Pride Month by, once again, making fun of transgender people.
An image of one of the Harry Potter author’s recent social media posts was shared by theme park insider Alicia Stella.

In the tweet, Rowling said, “I ???? identify???? as ???? a ???? reclining ???? sofa ???? stop ???? misfurnituring ???? me ???? you ???? bloody ???? bigot.”
Rowling’s controversial anti-trans comments have even caused her to fall out with multiple Harry Potter stars, including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, who played Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, respectively. Radcliffe and Watson, especially Watson, have been very vocal in their support of the trans community. Radcliffe even said what happened to their relationship was “sad.”
For her part, Rowling has said that she will never forgive Watson and Radcliffe, even if they beg her.
Despite millions of fans turning against her, Rowling is still a big part of the Harry Potter franchise. A brand-new series based on the books is currently in development at Max (HBO), and Rowling is set to serve as an executive producer. The new series is expected to debut in 2026 and run for ten seasons.

I love her . Her Harry Potter series is amazing. I agree there are only 2 genders and just because someone decides they don’t want to be whom they were born to be physically doesn’t change facts. Pretend to be whomever or whatever you wish. I support your right to say it. However I do not have to agree to be in denial.
There is a lot wrong with Rowling, but her stance on the trans idiocy is not one of them. Just because they are delusional does not mean every one else has to be.
What someone identifies as, nor what Rowling thinks about it does not effect me in the least. She is entitled to her opinions like anyone else, however she does not have any larger voice based on her status. Bashing her child stars who now disasagree with her is the definition of hypocrisy. Something the Left is very fond of. Her tweets make me question her actual literary abilities, maybe rumors of a ghost writer are true.
