Johnny Depp is facing stalking accusations after continuing to take on projects in Spain, where his ex-wife, Amber Heard, relocated following their contentious 2022 defamation trial.
Depp and Heard’s legal battle began when Depp filed a lawsuit against Heard over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post. Although she never named Depp directly, Heard identified herself as a victim of domestic abuse. The Virginia trial concluded with the jury finding Heard liable for defamation in all three of Depp’s claims, awarding him $15 million in damages. However, Depp was also found liable for one of Heard’s counterclaims and was ordered to pay her $2 million in damages.
Since the trial, Heard has kept a low profile, living quietly with her child in Madrid, Spain. She is currently expecting her second baby. While the online hatred directed towards Heard has lessened somewhat in the years since the trial, she still faces criticism and abuse from some online users.
On the other hand, Depp has stayed in the spotlight, performing with Jeff Beck and The Hollywood Vampires, directing Modi, Three Days on the Wing of Madness (2024), and starring in the upcoming Lionsgate film, Day Drinker (2026). He’s also the face of a Dior men’s fragrance, starring in various ad campaigns.
Depp’s latest work for Dior in Europe has ignited backlash from some social media users, who accuse him of not leaving Amber Heard alone. The controversy sparked after TMZ reported on Depp’s recent shoot in Spain. A post from @drugproblem on X (formerly known as Twitter) raised the accusation:

These online accusations claim Depp’s continued presence in Spain is not coincidental. “He’s still obsessed with her,” @televisualities argued.

However, Depp has his defenders. Some fans argued that his work commitments are unrelated to Heard’s relocation. One user, @JaylinDailey, asked, “Wait so he can never go to Spain again because she live there?”

To date, Johnny Depp has not publicly addressed the accusations regarding his work in Spain or the proximity to his ex-wife’s home. Similarly, Amber Heard has not commented on Depp’s presence in Spain.

I think Amber Heard is a mediocre, generically attractive actress who is obsessed with schtupping powerful men(she dated Elon Music k.who has nothing to recommend him.but money). She was about to be fired from.Aquaman 2 because the studio felt there was no chemistry between her and Momoa; Jason Momoa went to bat for her so she wasn’t fired. The producers ans director reduced her role,probably because she can’t act her way out of a wet paper bag. Did shethank Momoa? Nope. She whined that he was so self-absorbed he tore up a book she was reading. When the bad behavior is on one party, guess who has the problem? And it isn’t Depp, whose two exes testified on his behalf. As for Johnny Depp, I know a woman who was angered by Amber’s claim of being physically assaulted by him, because the woman I know had actually been physically assaulted by her ex on more than one occasion. She told me Amber had only one image, a selfie she took of herself, showing bruising that looked more like bad makeup artistry.
… Power can be intoxicating, which is too often followed by recklessness. There’s the immense power/influence obtained so relatively quickly through #MeToo and Cancel Culture, mostly via social media, that has ruined the careers and lives of celebrities.
I’ve long viewed humankind, as individuals and collectively, as not being very good at moderation. Still, while the social/political pendulum can swing to extremes, such great shifts should be expected with historical social injustices.

I think Depp is just working his ass off to repair his reputation & stagnation he suffered when everyone judged him & turned their back on him through his court process.
