In 2018, an OpEd was published in The Washington Post by Aquaman actress Amber Heard. In the article, she claimed to be the victim of domestic violence. While she did not name her abuser, she claimed that she was abused during the years that she was married to Pirates of the Caribbean star, Johnny Depp.

Depp denied the accusations, but that did not stop multiple studios from dropping him like a hot potato. Depp was recast as Gellert Grindelwald in the Warner Bros. franchise, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. According to Depp, he was also dropped by Disney as they were working on Pirates of the Caribbean 6. During his defamation suit against Heard, Depp claimed that losing that role cost him $22 million.

Despite breaking off its relationship with Depp, Disney still plans on going forward with another Pirates film. It most likely will not star Johnny Depp, but Disney may have just found the perfect replacement.

Okay, so Mickey Mouse wouldn’t REALLY replace Johnny Depp, but it’s definitely a Pirates of the Caribbean film that we would see!
The Wild Ride of Another Pirates Film
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most successful live-action franchises that Disney has ever had. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl kicked things off in 2003, and things only got better from there. The second film in the franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, ended up being the most successful at the box office. But it was followed close behind by the third film, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

Even though the last two films in the franchise were not as successful as the others, Disney was still determined to make another film. After dropping Depp, Disney was reportedly working on a new script and a new story that would revolve around Barbie star Margot Robbie. But, in November 2022, Robbie said that her Pirates movie was “dead at Disney.”

However, that is not completely true. Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that the studio was planning on going back to Robbie’s story when the script was where they needed it to be.
Early in September, Last of Us showrunner, Craig Mazin, revealed that Disney had purchased his pitch for a new Pirates story. Even Mazin was surprised by the news, saying he thought that the story was too “weird.” But Disney loved what they heard, and a script is in the works.

Although Disney parted ways with Depp years ago, and Depp has said that he would never return to Disney, we can never say never. Jerry Bruckheimer has said that he would love to work with Depp again. Even Disney executives have signaled that they would be willing to work with Depp in the future. This comment was made after Depp’s defamation suit against Heard resulted in a $10 million ruling in his favor.

If Johnny Depp does not pay Captain Jack Sparrow again, I will stop watching ant Disney films and my family will too.

No Johnny Depp, no Captain Jack Sparrow! I’m afraid Disney ruined itself now. I and my family won’t watch it anymore that’s for sure!
If Depp isn’t Jack Sparrow then I will not be watching any more Disney. I have already dropped Disney+ and refuse to give money to Disney unless Deep returns. They jumped to conclusions to quickly.

No Johnny Depp, no Captain Jack Sparrow, and no more Disney for me. They rushed to judgment and robbed him of millions of dollars! He was wronged by his ex wife and then wronged again by Disney. Used him and then disposed of him! Johnny was the Pirates of the Caribbean! He made the franchise what it was. And they made millions of of his name and the character he played! Disgraceful! Zero loyalty! Disney shot themselves in the foot big time! I’ve already cancelled my Disney Plus account! Never going back! Am still and will always be a Johnny Depp fan! He will continue to make great movies without Disney benefitting! That’s what they deserve!
Johnny Depp has made the character of Capt Jack Sparrow an icon. No one can duplicate his mannerisms, quirks, and isms that Depp has infused into this character.
I’m w everyone else. Johnny Depp made the Pirates of Caribbean movies.
I know there R 2sides to every story. But I think he shouldn’t be punished to be taken out of movie spots. He already had to pay her all that money. He bought her an Island!! If she was lying she should have to pay him all that money back.
Won’t be watching The Pirate s movies if Johnny Depp isn’t playing the role because he made that character.
