The Jurassic franchise has never been short on sequels. From The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) to last year's Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), each installment has pushed the timeline forward. But what it hasn’t done is stop and examine the immediate fallout of where it all began. That’s where Jurassic Park: Survival (TBA) takes a different approach.
Instead of advancing the story, the upcoming first-person action-adventure video game rewinds the clock to just after Jurassic Park (1993). By setting its events one day after the film, it focuses on a period in the timeline that has never been explored on screen.

In Jurassic Park: Survival, players take control of Dr. Maya Joshi (Payal Mistry), an InGen scientist stranded on Isla Nublar after failing to evacuate with her co-workers during the events of the 1993 film (she must have missed Mr. Arnold's announcement via intercom).
The game, developed by Saber Interactive, emphasizes survival over action. Stealth, awareness, and the careful use of available resources shape the experience, keeping the focus on staying alive rather than fighting back (although you might want to have those “tasers on full charge” anyway, just in case).

Visually and structurally, the game draws heavily from the original film. Saber Interactive has confirmed it will feature “a fully realized Isla Nublar,” allowing players to revisit locations like the Visitor Center and the main gates while also stepping into areas that were never shown in Jurassic Park (1993).
At the same time, the wider franchise continues to move in a different direction. Following last year's Rebirth — which was commercially successful but panned by fans and critics — the films remain tied to the Jurassic World identity, leaning into scale and global stakes. Jurassic Park: Survival, however, stands apart by narrowing its focus and returning to the tone that defined the original.

Jurassic Park: Survival
“Return to Isla Nublar the day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film in an original adventure 65 million years in the making,” the official synopsis for the game reads.
It continues: “Survive thrilling first-person action as InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was unable to evacuate Isla Nublar, in this single-player action-adventure game and discover a never-before-told story. Through thrilling encounters, experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.”
Jurassic Park: Survival will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
