With Jurassic World Rebirth hitting theaters in 2025, the iconic franchise is set to evolve in new directions. However, there’s another exciting project in the works that could have Jurassic fans just as intrigued: “Jurassic Park: Survival”.
Unlike the fast-paced action that Jurassic World Rebirth promises, the upcoming game offers a survival-based adventure that will drop players into the aftermath of the original Jurassic Park film.
This intriguing prequel, which is being developed by Saber Interactive, is set a day after the events of the 1993 film, with players taking on the role of Dr. Maya Joshi, a character who must survive on an island overrun with dangerous prehistoric creatures.

While the Jurassic World movies have evolved the narrative by adding new islands and expanding the scope of the franchise, “Jurassic Park: Survival” keeps the focus firmly on the original island.
In fact, this is a game that harkens back to the classic Jurassic Park experience by placing the player in the shoes of a scientist trying to survive the chaos left behind after the infamous island escape.
While it may not feature iconic characters like Alan Grant or Ellie Sattler, “Jurassic Park: Survival” will offer fans the chance to explore Isla Nublar in ways not seen before.

One of the exciting aspects of the game is its integration of classic dinosaurs from the 1993 film. The T-Rex, raptors, and Gallimimus are just a few of the terrifying creatures that players will encounter.
These dinosaurs will be more than just obstacles to avoid—they’ll be central to the survival mechanics, with each creature requiring a different strategy to overcome. The inclusion of Mr. DNA, the animated mascot, is another fun call-back to the original movie, providing a nostalgic element for long-time fans.
While much of the game’s story is still under wraps, the teaser trailer hints at a gripping, immersive experience. The survival mechanics will likely include crafting tools, solving puzzles, and outsmarting the dinosaurs that rule the island.

With its prequel setting and ties to the original film, “Jurassic Park: Survival” promises to offer a more grounded, atmospheric experience compared to the high-octane thrills of the Jurassic World films.
Although no release date has been confirmed yet, “Jurassic Park: Survival” is expected to be available on major platforms like PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
For fans of the original Jurassic Park film, it’s an opportunity to relive the terror and wonder of Isla Nublar—only this time, you’re the one trying to survive.
