Despite racking up more than $700 million worldwide, Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) wasn’t the film many longtime fans were hoping for. Now, just weeks after its theatrical debut, it’s reportedly heading to streaming.
According to streaming tracker When to Stream, Rebirth is expected to drop on digital platforms via premium video-on-demand on Tuesday, August 5. Universal Pictures has not confirmed a digital release, but the outlet has a strong track record when it comes to PVOD timelines.
The digital release will reportedly include “deleted scenes,” an “alternate opening,” and a “gag reel,” according to a seemingly leaked teaser circulating online. The footage, which hasn’t been officially shared by Universal or the Jurassic World channels, is currently being posted by YouTubers like ProC and Swrve.

But for many fans, extra content isn’t the real issue. The film itself has faced harsh criticism since opening in theaters, with some calling for a full reboot of the franchise.
One deleted scene is said to include Velociraptors, but whether that will be enough to satisfy longtime viewers remains to be seen. The creatures were mostly left out of the theatrical cut—another point of contention among fans.

Directed by Garth Edwards and written by David Koepp, Rebirth stars Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett, a covert ops specialist sent to retrieve genetic material from a remote island, only to discover a deadly new breed of hybrid creatures. The cast also includes Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.
Whether an alternate opening and a few extras can change the conversation around the movie is anyone’s guess. For now, fans who walked away unimpressed might be asking for more than just deleted scenes. They want a different cut—or a different movie altogether.
