Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Is Changing in 2025—Here’s What Fans Need to Know

For over 50 years, Main Street, U.S.A. has welcomed guests into Magic Kingdom with its nostalgic charm.

It’s where the day begins, where families grab their first set of Mickey ears, and where the magic comes to life before you even step onto a ride. But even the most iconic locations need a refresh now and then, and Disney has given this beloved entrance some noticeable updates in 2025.

If you’ve ever shopped at the Emporium, you know how packed it can get, especially during parades or after the fireworks. Well, Disney heard those complaints and made some smart changes. The store has a more open layout now, with a register near Casey’s Corner removed to help with traffic flow. They also brightened things up with new flooring, making the whole space feel bigger and easier to navigate.

The shortcut through the Emporium is officially back, which is a huge deal for parkgoers who like to skip the Main Street bottleneck. This little path makes getting to Frontierland and Liberty Square way easier, especially during crowded afternoons when Main Street turns into a sea of people.

But the updates aren’t just about making shopping smoother—there’s also a brand-new nighttime parade on the way. Disney hasn’t revealed all the details yet, but expect glowing floats, a mix of beloved characters, and some stunning special effects. Considering how popular nighttime entertainment is at Magic Kingdom, this new show will definitely be a major draw.

And then, just beyond Main Street, things are about to get even more exciting. Disney is working on a massive expansion, adding a Cars attraction where Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island are currently located. Plus, the long-awaited Disney Villains land is finally happening. Imagine an entire area dedicated to the most wickedly entertaining characters, filled with themed rides, shops, and dining.

With all these changes, it’s clear that Magic Kingdom is evolving in a big way. Main Street, U.S.A. still holds onto its classic charm, but Disney is making it more convenient, more exciting, and more immersive than ever before. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, 2025 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years yet at Magic Kingdom.
