Walt Disney World Resort vacations have reached new price heights, with tickets starting at $119 per day—and that’s before you add on extras like the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. With all those costs stacking up, guests expect to maximize their time in the parks.
Unfortunately, even the smallest disruptions can cause major headaches. And what happened at Magic Kingdom on February 10 was definitely more than just a small hiccup.

Wait Times Surge as Guests Struggle to Adapt
With so many rides closed, the few that remained open saw massive increases in wait times. Guests who had already joined lines for the closed attractions were allowed to stay in place, hoping that the rides would come back online. But for those hoping to enjoy more of the park, the situation became increasingly difficult as the night wore on.
The park officially closed at 10 p.m., but by 8:30 p.m., most of the rides were still down, leaving guests with limited options for entertainment.
After-Hours Event Offers Hope
Luckily, there was an After-Hours party scheduled that night. For those who were still in the park, this special event began at 10 p.m. and lasted until 1 a.m., providing another opportunity to enjoy the park’s magic.
By the time the After-Hours event kicked off, many of the rides that had been down earlier were back in operation, offering some relief to frustrated guests.
As of now, Disney has not confirmed whether any partial refunds were offered for park tickets or Lightning Lane passes due to the power outage. It remains unclear if guests impacted by the temporary closures received compensation.
