Since the launch of MagicBands at the Walt Disney World Resort in 2014, many Guests have been wondering when the technology would arrive on the West Coast at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. This morning, during Destination D23 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney broke the news that the brand new MagicBand+ will be coming to the Disneyland Resort in 2022!
Here is a first look at a new MagicBand+ design coming exclusively to the Disneyland Resort:
MagicBand+ will bring with it some brand new features allowing Guests to find even more ways to interact with different areas of both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. During this morning’s presentation at Destination D23, fans got a first look at how the MagicBand+ can be used at the Walt Disney World Resort to interact with the Fab 50 Character Collection of statues that debuted at all four Walt Disney World theme parks just for “The Most Magical Celebration on Earth.
While wait to learn more about the new MagicBand+ and how it will be implemented at the Disneyland Resort when it is rolled out on the West Coast next year, we recommend checking out shopDisney ahead of your next Disney vacation to see some of the newest MagicBand designs.
MagicBands are now essential to planning the best possible Walt Disney World vacation as they give Guests easier access to their theme park tickets, resort room keys, Disney PhotoPass downloads, restaurant information, plus the new Disney Genie+, Lightning Lane, and more. For PhotoPass downloads, locations around the Walt Disney World Resort are now offering augmented reality shots, too, including one with the pink birthday cake version of Cinderella Castle from the 25th anniversary of Walt Disney World!
We look forward to learning more about MagicBands arriving at the Disneyland Resort, and will be back with more details here on Disney Fanatic once we have them.
