Main Street Electrical Parade Leaves Disney Park

As Disney Parks announced earlier this year, the Main Street Electrical Parade is going to have its final performance tomorrow.

The Disney Parks—whether over at Walt Disney World or in Disneyland Park—are home to myriad attractions that Disney fans love dearly. But one of the most beloved ones has to be Disneyland’s Main Street Electrical Parade. Fans were more than thrilled to see the Parade return to Disneyland Resort on April 22, 2022.

The nighttime spectacular at the Southern California Park, a fan favorite of the Disneyland parades, made its comeback with a reimagined opening dialogue and a spectacular new float. It featured characters from movies like Hercules (1997), Mulan (1998), Moana (2016), Coco (2017), Raya and the Last Dragon (2021), and Encanto (2021).

According to Disneyland’s official website, the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland Park will have its last performances today, August 31, and tomorrow, September 1, at 8:30 pm and 10:30 pm. Back in April when the Parade returned to the Theme Park, the Disney Parks blog said the following:

Over the past five decades, the “Main Street Electrical Parade” has brought families together to delight in its many whimsical stories and featured characters. And soon, that will continue for a whole new generation of dreamers. In honor of the parade’s 50th anniversary, this nighttime spectacular will return with an all-new, enchanted grand finale that celebrates the theme of togetherness.

In case you’re already in your feels about it, here’s the “First Look” Disney gave us back in April when the Parade first returned:

Per Disney, the Main Street Electrical Parade is “Led by the iconic train and drum unit featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy.” It fills the street with iconic music, sparkling displays, and many a gorgeous float depicting scenes from movies like Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, and more. The parade has brought Disney Guests a lot of happiness over the past 50 years.

The Parade is not the only thing to leave come September 1. The Disneyland Forever fireworks are also seeing their last day tomorrow. Making their return for the 60th Anniversary Celebration, the Disneyland Forever fireworks lit up the skies over Sleeping Beauty Castle earlier this year after Covid-19-inspired restrictions called for a more limited situation.

This said, sad as we are about the sparkling lights of the Parade and fireworks leaving, we’re also looking forward to a Disney Halloween, complete with Halloween Screams, that we found out earlier this year was returning on September 2nd:

Let it never be said that Disney lets its Guests feel sadness for long!

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to keep you updated about this, and all other Disney news as it comes to light.
