This is probably the closest a parade float can get to having its pants drop in the middle of its route.

Last week, the Main Street Electrical Parade was in the middle of another routine Disneyland Park procession when the door of one of the bumblebee floats suddenly swung open, exposing the operating Cast Member inside.

Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade is a 50-year-old nighttime staple, delighting generations with much of the same lights and music while also adding a few modern sparks here and there. It returned to Disneyland Park in Southern California in April of this year with the Disneyland Forever fireworks spectacular, and it will complete its run on September 1. But its reprisal has not been without a few mishaps.

Previously, we at Disney Fanatic shared a moment when a float modeled after the Blue Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland got stuck in the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., and had to get towed to the end. Click the link below to read our coverage of that story.

Luckily it appears that this latest malfunction did not result in any injuries or any delays, as the Cast Member appears to just go on with the show as if nothing happened. Video footage of this latest door malfunction was caught by Theme Park Steve during a live stream from the Hub in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The Disneyland Resort describes the Main Street Electrical Parade on its website as the following:

Lighting Up the Night

Led by the iconic train and drum unit featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy—the Main Street Electrical Parade fills the street with iconic music, sparkling displays and fantastic floats depicting scenes from movies like Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, along with charming and whimsical Elliot the Dragon from Disney’s classic Pete’s Dragon.

New to the parade for its 50th anniversary is a magnificent grand finale float that celebrates the theme of togetherness, reflected in a design that brings together characters and moments from more than a dozen beloved Disney and Pixar stories. These stylized scenes—interpreted in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound—bring to light classic and contemporary favorites such as Encanto, The Jungle Book, Raya and the Last Dragon, The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Mulan and more. Inspired by both the design of classic Main Street Electrical Parade floats and Disney Legend Mary Blair’s art style on “it’s a small world,” the new grand finale float is one of the longest and grandest in the parade’s 50-year history!

Over the past 50 years, generations of Guests have gathered to bask in the magical glow of this pageant. Be sure to catch it before The Main Street Electrical Parade leaves for the season!
