The Disney Parks are the epitome of magic and wonder for Guests from all over the world, and while they set a high standard for similar theme parks to meet, they are by no means the only Park that Guests love to frequent. Often, we have reported on news from Universal—Disney’s biggest competitor; recently, they announced Halloween Horror Nights house themed on the hit series Last of Us.
Today, we have news from another theme park based across the pond in the European continent, in southwest Germany.
A massive fire broke out at Germany’s biggest theme park on Monday. The blaze at Europa Park started in the Spanish-themed section “Magic World of Diamonds.”
No injuries were reported and the fire is under control. The park will reopen tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/qlphUVQkMw

Journalist Scott Gustin took to social media to share the news that a massive fire broke out at Europa-Park, Germany’s biggest theme park, on Monday afternoon. Various news outlets reported that the fire was centered around the Spanish-themed section “Magic World of Diamonds.”
An eyewitness at the scene told German outlet Bild, “It banged loudly two or three times. After that, a huge fire could be seen.” In the video shared by Gustin, we also see a dense plume of smoke rising up.
Many fans of the amusement park, Europa-Park, were unhappy to hear the news, not only because of the danger this fire posed but also for the reported lack of adequate safety measures on the part of the theme park. One fan shared,
I love that park and the way it’s run. But two major fires in five years shows something is very wrong with their operations/infrastructure/fire suppression. And, yes, that goes right up to the Macks since the resort is family run. No excuses.

Many agreed with this opinion, with another chiming in Germany’s biggest theme park:
Oh no. But another major attraction fire after in just a couple years? They need to take a look at their fire safety for sure

However, there was also a disagreement about the details of the fire itself. One fan shared, “It’s actually an Austrian themed arena. The indoor hall with animatronic trolls included a walkthrough, log flume and powered coaster.”
The park themselves also took to Twitter later to share an update that they were working with the relevant authorities and the fire was under control:
Dear visitors and fans of Europa-Park, an incident has occurred at Europa-Park. We are working closely with the relevant authorities and emergency services. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/2CabNf73V4
