Mickey Mouse Holds Military Child with Separation Anxiety

THIS is exactly why we are so happy Disney character hugs are back. On a recent visit to Walt Disney World Resort, one military family shares their special Mickey Mouse meet-and-greet experience that has us reaching for the tissues.

Mickey Mouse has returned to Main Street, U.S.A. where he is greeting Guests in his 50th Anniversary outfit at Town Square Theater. While we have yet to hear news of the return of the Tinker Bell meet and greet, Minnie Mouse is currently meeting Guests as well in Town Square Theater.

A memorable moment was captured in a brief video by one military family. @lizroseshort took to TikTok to share a sweet clip of her child’s experience with Mickey Mouse during a special character meet and greet moment.

@lizroseshort (Liz) notes, “Our toddler has been having separation anxiety and many behaviors because her dad is about to deploy again. We decided to take a last minute Disney trip to make some memories before her dad leaves.”

“As soon as Mickey heard he stopped us from leaving and sat on the floor with her for a few minutes just so she could process everything.” “Thank you Mickey & Minnie for giving her a little extra Disney magic.”
