Stranger Things has officially reached the end of its five-season live-action series, but Netflix isn't closing the door on the franchise just yet.
The series concluded with Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), and the rest of the Hawkins gang bringing their story to a close.
For many fans, that meant saying goodbye to the characters who had been at the center of the Netflix phenomenon since 2016.

However, the Duffer brothers already have another live-action Stranger Things project in development.
Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed an untitled live-action spinoff, although the project will feature a completely new story with “no common characters” with the original Stranger Things.
That means Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Max, and the rest of the original Hawkins gang aren't expected to lead the new live-action series.
There has, however, been speculation about another project involving Brown and Wolfhard.
A report previously claimed that the two stars could return as Eleven and Mike in a potential Stranger Things spinoff. Netflix and the Duffers have not officially announced that project, meaning fans should treat those reports as rumors rather than confirmation.
Meanwhile, the franchise has already found a way to bring its original characters back.
Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 takes place between seasons 2 and 3, bringing the characters back in animated form. Brown and the original cast don't provide the voices, though, with Brooklyn Davey Norstedt leading the series as Eleven instead.
The first season premiered on Netflix in April, and now, Season 2 is set to arrive on September 17, giving fans another adventure with the beloved characters. Watch the official trailer below:
