Missing Aircrafts Discovered at Disney Resort

A Disneyland Paris visitor made an unexpected discovery during their trip—drones stranded on top of attractions. The guest, who spotted one drone perched above the Mad Hatter’s Teacups and another atop Le Carrousel de Lancelot, took to Reddit to share their unusual find.

“I noticed this drone on top of the teacups ride earlier today. It looked like it had LED lights on the front, so I imagine it’s from the light show. I also noticed another one on top of the carousel but didn’t get a photo of that. I wonder if these have malfunctioned or just landed in the wrong place—has anyone else seen these about the park before?”

While Disneyland Paris is well-known for incorporating drone technology into its nighttime spectaculars, guests don’t usually see them during the day—especially not sitting on top of rides.

Disneyland Paris and the Rise of Drone Entertainment

In recent years, Disneyland Paris has taken a leading role in drone-based entertainment, incorporating the technology into shows like Disney D-Light and Avengers: Power the Night. These synchronized performances create stunning aerial formations, adding a new dimension to Disney's nighttime displays.

Unlike traditional fireworks or projection mapping, drones require precise programming to ensure they return to their designated landing areas. However, as with any advanced technology, occasional hiccups can happen.

While it’s unclear exactly why these drones missed their mark, there are several possible explanations:

  • Strong winds or weather conditions may have pushed them off course.
  • GPS errors or signal interference could have disrupted their flight paths.
  • Battery or hardware issues might have prevented them from completing their programmed return.

Usually, Disney’s entertainment team monitors the drones closely, retrieving any that don’t land properly. However, in this case, it seems at least a couple remained visible to guests the next morning.

Disney’s Approach to Drone Safety and Recovery

Whenever drones don’t return to their designated landing zone, Cast Members have strict protocols in place to retrieve them as soon as possible. Safety is Disney’s top priority, so any unexpected landings are handled swiftly to ensure they don’t interfere with attractions or guest experiences.

Despite the occasional technical mishap, Disney’s drones have revolutionized theme park entertainment, providing breathtaking visuals that set Disneyland Paris apart from other Disney parks.

Reactions to the guest’s discovery have ranged from curiosity to amusement, with some joking that the drones had “decided to take a break” after a long night’s work. Others speculated that Cast Members simply hadn’t had a chance to retrieve them yet.

While Disneyland Paris hasn’t commented on the incident, it’s safe to assume these drones were collected and prepped for their next show—proving that even Disney magic sometimes has a technical glitch or two.
