Closures are a part of the Walt Disney World experience. Every Disney Fanatic knows the pain of their favorite haunt closing—whether temporarily or, in some unfortunate cases, more permanently. Equally, we also know the joy of being able to return to that destination, the eatery, or the attraction to take it all in when it reopens again.
Despite all the difficult news going around at the moment about the Walt Disney World Resort, the Walt Disney Company, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, there is some good news that Disney Fanatics can take solace in.
One Walt Disney World mainstay is reopening tomorrow, April 1, 2023, after being closed for a while for refurbishment, and it looks fantastic. The restaurant Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is reopening after its closure, as journalist Scott Gustin took to Twitter to share.
Disney: “Because we are still putting finishing touches on this beautiful new space, there may be select days in May and June where reservations are unavailable.”

Gustin also added that there would be select dates in May and June when reservations are unavailable due to Disney putting “finishing touches” on the new space.
Many fans were quite excited to hear about the reopening, sharing, “it looks really good! Similar to before but refreshed. Excited for our reservation now.” Another fan elaborated on their hopes for the space, “I hope the lighting is dimmer inside then whats shown in these pictures, otherwise I love it!”
However, while many were thrilled at the reopening, many also shared their dissatisfaction.
One commented, “Yay for genericness!!!”
Another fan acquiesced that the space looked beautiful but that “we wouldn’t think we were at wdw,” as “it’s very basic…”
The reimagined Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort offers Guests coastal cuisine and the chance to “delight in elegant coastal offerings from land and sea at this waterfront hideaway.” The restaurant serves a “spectacular, innovative selection of fresh seafood from both local waters and around the globe.”
It’s one of the pricier dining options and is considered a Disney Signature Dining experience, and has a dress code that expects Guests to “[respect] the restaurant’s sophisticated and upscale aesthetic.”
Some fan-favorite offerings include Prime New York Strip, Dry-Aged Pork Ribeye, the Surf & Turf with Filet Mignon, or the Butter-Poached Lobster Tail. The eatery is also famous for its Almond-Crusted Cheesecake with Lambert Cherry Sauce. There is a new menu for Guests to enjoy, including an Artisan Boule of Sourdough developed by Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer just for this restaurant.
