There are several prominent ghosts who have retired here from creepy old crypts all over the world. Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here — but there’s room for 1,000. Any volunteers?
The Haunted Mansion has been a cornerstone of Disney’s legacy for decades, captivating fans with its eerie charm and timeless storytelling. While the classic attraction wasn’t part of Disneyland’s opening lineup, it’s impossible to imagine the park without it today.
Over the years, the ride has undergone countless updates, but one of the most buzzworthy changes just made its debut: a brand-new look for Constance Hatchaway, the infamous bride of the Haunted Mansion.

A Spooky Refurbishment
Last year, Disney announced an extensive refurbishment for the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. This upgrade included an expanded queue and the addition of Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond shop near the ride’s exit. Fans eagerly awaited the results of the transformation, especially as the attraction temporarily closed in January 2024 for updates.
After months of anticipation, the Haunted Mansion reopened in July with its annual holiday overlay, Haunted Mansion Holiday, inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
However, it wasn’t until the Christmas season that eagle-eyed fans spotted something unusual inside Madame Leota’s new shop—artwork featuring a strikingly different version of Constance Hatchaway, hinting at changes to come.
Fans React to the New Bride
The speculation was put to rest when Disney officially revealed the revamped look for Constance Hatchaway. The notorious bride’s updated appearance is equal parts chilling and elegant, featuring more detailed facial expressions and an ethereal glow.
Social media quickly lit up with reactions from fans, many of whom noticed the changes while visiting the shop or catching glimpses online.

Fans have been discussing whether this new interpretation adds depth to Constance’s already iconic backstory. Known as the “Black Widow Bride,” Constance Hatchaway is infamous for her trail of unfortunate husbands who all met untimely ends. Her redesigned look seems to lean even further into her ghostly lore, enhancing her haunting presence within the attraction.
The Haunted Mansion Bride Sipper
To celebrate the update, Disney also announced a new collectible inspired by Constance Hatchaway. The Haunted Mansion Bride Sipper, featuring Constance holding a candelabra and a bouquet of roses, will be available at Disneyland’s Harbour Galley and Stage Door Café starting January 14, 2025.
Initially scheduled for release on January 8, the date was pushed back.

The Return of the Classic Haunted Mansion
Adding to the excitement, Disneyland confirmed that the Haunted Mansion will return to its original state on January 18, 2025. This marks the first time in over a year that guests will be able to experience the attraction in its classic form, without the holiday overlay.
The transition back to the traditional Haunted Mansion promises to draw large crowds eager to see Constance Hatchaway’s new look in action.
