New ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Sequel Finally Confirmed

Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) shattered box office records, becoming one of the MCU’s biggest films to date. The film, which sees Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprising their fan-favorite roles, grossed a staggering $1.338 billion worldwide.

It wasn’t just a box office juggernaut but a cultural moment, finally blending together the worlds of the MCU and Fox. But as Deadpool & Wolverine continues to dominate discussions, Marvel Comics is now making a big move in its storytelling direction.

In an unexpected twist, Marvel Comics is wrapping up its solo “Deadpool” run with “Deadpool” #350 (issue #15), transitioning the Merc with a Mouth to a new format.

The comic book giant is shifting focus from Deadpool himself to a new, exciting team-up in “Wolverines and Deadpools.” The new limited series, set to explore a fresh dynamic, will feature Wade Wilson/Deadpool’s daughter, Ellie Camacho, and Logan/Wolverine’s daughter, Laura Kinney (X-23), as they take on the roles left by their fathers.

This move, however, follows a particularly controversial storyline in which Ellie briefly took over the Deadpool mantle in “Deadpool” #7, after Wade Wilson’s death. The new series will explore how these two characters navigate the legacy of their fathers, introducing a unique father-daughter dynamic with plenty of mutant action and emotional depth.

But the change doesn’t stop there. In another comic book shake-up shift, Marvel is also ending the “Weapon X-Men” spinoff series, which was initially meant to run long-term but will now conclude with its fifth and final issue in June.

While fans might feel the sting of these changes, the introduction of Ellie and Laura as leads offers new, exciting opportunities within the Marvel comic landscape.

With the release of Avengers: Doomsday in 2026 and the “Wolverines and Deadpools” comic dropping in July, Marvel is steering its flagship characters toward new territory.
